Specimen Number One

  1. I hope this is your concentration because I am going to leave a comment on it by answering the concentration ? - What I think that Jordan is trying to explore here with these concentration pieces is taking a closer and finer detail at the specimens that we do not often see in life or in a way we usually do not see them. We usually go on in life just looking at nature without realizing the detail. We need to stop and pause and look at the little details of creation that make this world a beautiful place that truly shows God's handiwork in it. They are very cool, all 3!!! :)

  2. I really do love this piece, between the ordinary just a plant feature and the stylized lines and added squares it comes out as a beautiful piece.

  3. All of your concentration pieces have a retro-biology/science feel. Maybe it is just the "specimen" titles...
I can see your concentration heading in the direction where you would add some of those items which a botanist would take on a specimen-collecting trip, a magnifying glass, flower press, sample slide, etc.
The contrast between the flower and blunt rectangles are very pleasing to the eye, so much that I feel it wouldn't have been complete without the addition of those boxes. Your drawing skills, especially the use of line, space and visualization are amazing!
