Critque...

Hello,
I would really like some input as to what I might be exploring more specifically with my concentrations...
(The three 'Specimen' pieces are my concentrations...)
Thank you,

  1. I think something you could explore in your concentrations could be color. Probably not whole colored images, but added accents of color into the drawings you already have. Like a single red flower bud within a piece, or one colored leaf could maybe be fun. So far, they all look amazing.
I'd look into ways, also perhaps, of characterizing the plants. The spider-esk one kind of had a creepy emotion come off. Perhaps explore how to make the mundane plants into emotion conveying images via style and perspective.

  2. I really like your second one, maybe you could do more of those that have an interesting form and you cannot fully tell what kind of specimen that it is. It is cool when I see those different "unique" forms and then you draw them out, like number 2. Cause I know that the other ones are plants (number 1& 3), but this (#2) could be some other scientific specimen form. It is cool. I do not know if that helped or not, but there is just my input, because I do not fully know what other you are exploring with you concentration pieces besides just specimen.

  3. jordan, you have one of the best drawing hands i have ever seen. I really enjoy just watching you draw. i would agree color might be cool, but to much of it or something to vibrant might be overpowering. i think it would be cool to add some colored shading, like a slight red shadow or something like that.
